Sacred
Formulas
Three ingredients, one formula. Concentrated fruiting-body extracts of lion’s mane and maitake, carried by Colombian trapiche panela. Nothing is added to make up weight, and nothing is added to make it dissolve.
Lion’s mane and maitake, extracted and standardized, set into powdered panela — sugarcane juice boiled down and never refined. A 450 g pouch, about 56 servings of 8 g. It goes into the coffee you already make.

LION’S MANE
Hericium erinaceus. A white, shaggy mushroom that grows on hardwood. We use the fruiting body only, hot-water extracted at 12:1 and standardized to more than 30 % polysaccharides.
ORIGINS
Originally found in Asia, Europe, and North America, where it grows on hardwood trees. Part of Asian culture for centuries.
WHY WE USE IT
This mushroom is rich in beta-glucans, hericenones, and erinacines that enhance neuroplasticity, the key to how you learn and adapt throughout life. It also supports immune, digestive, and heart health. It also triggers NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) production, crucial for memory and skill acquisition.

MAITAKE
Grifola frondosa. Known in Japan as the dancing mushroom, it grows in overlapping fans at the base of oaks. We use the fruiting body only, hot-water extracted at 10:1.

SUGAR CANE
Saccharum officinarum. Panela is its juice, boiled down in a trapiche and poured into blocks: nothing bleached out, nothing added back. It is the carrier, and it is the reason this formula needs no binder.

neither plants nor animals: closer to us than to a tree
They have been in Asian kitchens and traditions for centuries, and for a few decades now they have been studied with new tools. On the blog we write down what we learn: where the ones we use come from, how they are grown and how they are extracted.

I swapped the sugar in my morning coffee for a scoop three months ago. It tastes like actual cane, not like flat sweetness.

What sold me is not having to keep simple syrup in the fridge. One scoop and the cold brew is done.

“
My question was whether it would dissolve cold. It does, with no grit. I use it in the morning smoothie.

Ordered on a Tuesday, here on Thursday. The pouch arrived sealed and intact, no powder anywhere in the box.

The toasted edge of the panela works with coffee. My husband never took anything sweet and he switched to this.

What is Seta Panela?
Seta Panela is a powdered food blend made from Colombian panela and concentrated functional mushroom extracts.
It was made to fold into the drinks and recipes you already prepare, turning them into a mushroom preparation without asking you to change your habits.
What does it taste like?
Seta Panela keeps panela’s own flavour, with soft molasses and caramel notes. The mushroom extracts add a light umami base that the panela balances out; in coffee, matcha, tea and most preparations it goes practically unnoticed.
What is the recommended serving?
The recommended serving is 8 g — a level scoop — per day.
Some people prefer one serving a day; others use two or more depending on their preferences and goals. Functional mushrooms have a wide safety margin and there is no known risk of overdose at the amounts usually consumed. Past a certain point the body simply stops absorbing part of some of their compounds, which are eliminated naturally.
Can I take it every day?
Yes.
Seta Panela was made for everyday use as part of a varied diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medication, we recommend checking with a healthcare professional first.
Is that much panela every day a problem?
Each 8 g serving of Seta Panela contains about 7.5 g of sugars naturally present in the panela.
That is roughly 15 % of the FDA Daily Value for added sugars on a 2,000-calorie diet (50 g per day).
For most people that amount can be part of a balanced diet, especially when it replaces the sugar you would otherwise add to coffee, tea or other drinks. Like any food that contains sugar, it belongs in the context of each person’s daily diet.
Is it a medicine?
No.
Seta Panela is a food made from Colombian panela and concentrated functional mushroom extracts. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it should not replace treatment prescribed by a healthcare professional.
