What is Seta Panela?
Seta Panela is a powdered food blend made from Colombian panela and concentrated functional mushroom extracts.
It was made to fold into the drinks and recipes you already prepare, turning them into a mushroom preparation without asking you to change your habits.
Fruiting body or mycelium?
Fruiting body only. Much of the mushroom powder sold in the United States is mycelium grown on grain, which means a good part of what you pay for is the grain it grew on. We use the mushroom itself, extracted and standardized, and we print that on the pack.
What exactly is panela?
Sugarcane juice, boiled down and poured into blocks. Nothing bleached out, nothing added back — which is what separates it from brown sugar. Colombia drinks more of it than any country on earth, and it carries the extract without needing a binder.
How do I use it?
One 8 g serving into about 8 oz of hot water, coffee, milk or a plant-based alternative, stirred until it dissolves. Morning or evening, whichever suits you.
What does it taste like?
Seta Panela keeps panela’s own flavour, with soft molasses and caramel notes. The mushroom extracts add a light umami base that the panela balances out; in coffee, matcha, tea and most preparations it goes practically unnoticed.
What is the recommended serving?
The recommended serving is 8 g — a level scoop — per day.
Some people prefer one serving a day; others use two or more depending on their preferences and goals. Functional mushrooms have a wide safety margin and there is no known risk of overdose at the amounts usually consumed. Past a certain point the body simply stops absorbing part of some of their compounds, which are eliminated naturally.
Can I take it every day?
Yes.
Seta Panela was made for everyday use as part of a varied diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medication, we recommend checking with a healthcare professional first.
Is that much panela every day a problem?
Each 8 g serving of Seta Panela contains about 7.5 g of sugars naturally present in the panela.
That is roughly 15 % of the FDA Daily Value for added sugars on a 2,000-calorie diet (50 g per day).
For most people that amount can be part of a balanced diet, especially when it replaces the sugar you would otherwise add to coffee, tea or other drinks. Like any food that contains sugar, it belongs in the context of each person’s daily diet.
Is it a medicine?
No.
Seta Panela is a food made from Colombian panela and concentrated functional mushroom extracts. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it should not replace treatment prescribed by a healthcare professional.
